The Holiday Season is upon us. Would you celebrate Christmas if you did not have presents, and santa?
If Christmas was strictly a religious holiday, would it be less popular.
Actually it is stritcly a religious day. Commercialism, the growth in the myth of Santa has removed the importance of the day. It is now totally about how much profit the merchant made, how much debt your parents racked up to get you the gifts you want that in 6 months will be either obsolete, broken or you are just bored with them.
Wherever you live, when you ride thru the neighborhoods you see those giant decorations, people just out doing the next, but how many Mangers or Mennorahs do you see? No that is banned because we might insult out neighbor! how ludicrous we have become.
Your question covers every important holiday- how many Vets do you go visit on Veteran’s Day, do you go to the parade or the sales, Thanksgiving, do you sit with your family and thank whoever you believe in for all your blessings or do you now go to the sales that they just started 2-3 years ago? I believe that on all these days ALL stores should be closed to show respect, patriotism and support, most of the things we have long forgotten.
